Thea Brandt is an oil painter working out of a converted barn studio in the Hudson Valley. Her work moves between representational landscape and loose, gestural abstraction — often within the same piece.

Trained in classical technique and drawn to modern color theory, she builds each painting in slow layers over weeks, letting the palette knife take over where the brush leaves off.

Her paintings have shown in regional galleries across New York and Vermont, and are held in private collections nationwide. She accepts a limited number of commissions each year.
