Emilie Strand paints in acrylic, working slowly and in small groups. Her subjects are unshowy — a farm in empty fields, snow dunes after a storm, the flat green of a late-summer meadow — returned to again and again until the light feels right.
She prefers a limited palette and lets each canvas dry between passes, building color in thin, unhurried layers rather than gestural strokes.
