Landscape and abstraction, laid out like a feature spread — the work sized and sequenced the way an editor would run it, not a uniform grid.

Celeste Farrow paints out of a converted mill building on the edge of a working harbor town, where the light changes by the hour and the tide is the only clock she keeps. Her canvases move between wide, quiet landscapes and passages of pure gestural abstraction — sometimes within the same piece, as if the eye briefly loses the horizon.
Trained in classical drawing before turning almost entirely to color, she builds each painting in slow, deliberate layers — scraping back as often as she adds — and treats a finished canvas less as a picture of a place than a record of the time spent looking at it.
Her work has appeared in regional survey shows and is held in private collections across the country. She takes on a small number of commissions each year and welcomes studio visits by appointment.
